Choir going to perform at the airport!

On Friday the 14th of December our school choir got accepted to perform at Edinburgh airport to sing for people leaving to go on holiday. They will be singing a lot of christmas carols. Our choir have amazing voices and everyone loves to hear them sing.

The choir leaders Mrs Masson and Mrs Beaton are proud of all the children.

Christmas at Longstone!

Here at Longstone Primary School, we have lots of sensational events which have occurred and are coming up!

To start with, our P1 and P2 pupils did a spectacular job with their fantastic Nativity! The children had to perform the play 2 times, once for their parents on 11th December 2018. Today, the children performed in front of the entire school! They all did very well and they should give themselves a pat on the back! Well done P1 and P2!

Secondly, a lot of people came along to the amazing school Christmas fair! There were tons of delicate decorations to buy, which were made by the pupils, and tons of exciting activities to take part in. One of the most popular events was beat the goalie, in which you had to score a goal against Mr Hawkey, who was dressed up as Santa Claus!

All of the pupils are looking forward to watching the amazing pantomime called The Wizard of Oz, which will be performed by several people.

Finally, the one thing that everybody is looking forward to is Christmas! The children will only have one more week of school, then they have a holiday until 9th January 2019!

We all hope that the children have a splendid Christmas!

P7 Football Tournament.

P7 went to a tournament at Meggetland and did extremely well. This was the semi-finals of a bigger competition and our team had already done well to get through to this round. In their first game they won 1-0. In the second game they drew 1-1. In the third game they drew 2-2. They had everything to play for in the fourth game but unfortunately they lost 3-1 then they lost their last game 5-2. Even though they didn’t get through to the final the team still did really well and tried their very best. They will be playing in another tournament later on in the year which they will hopefully have a good chance of winning.
